Trump's financial disclosure covering 2025 reported nearly $1 million in licensing income tied to Aida, a development near Muscat being built through a joint venture between Dar Global and Omran Group, the Omani government's tourism development arm, according to a CNBC analysis published on August 10, 2026. The Trump Organization first signed the Oman licensing deal in 2022, and AFP described the project as sitting on Omani state-owned land. Newsweek reported in July 2025 that Trump International Oman, a $500 million resort with a 140-room hotel and golf course, was expected to open by December 2028, and that Oman was acting as a mediator between the United States and Iran on nuclear talks. CNBC noted that the Trump Organization's ethics policy bars only direct agreements with foreign governments and said it found no evidence that any licensing payment influenced an administration decision. The Trump Organization told CNBC it operates "completely separate from the presidency"; the Omani government and Omran Group did not respond to CNBC's questions.
