Trump said it while watching Fiorina on television aboard his plane after a rally in Hampton, New Hampshire. Rolling Stone published the quote on September 9, 2015. He then told CNN's 'New Day', 'I'm not talking about looks. I'm talking about persona.' On Fox News, Fiorina said that 'maybe, just maybe, I'm getting under his skin a little bit because I am climbing in the polls.'
