What happened
At the rally Trump promised 'Operation Aurora,' a nationwide deportation effort under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. He repeated his claim that Tren de Aragua had taken over apartment complexes in the city. Aurora's police chief said the city remained very safe, and local officials disputed the takeover claim, NPR and NBC News reported. He had used the 'dungeons of the third world' line since at least June 6, 2024, in Phoenix. In March 2025, as president, he invoked the Alien Enemies Act against Tren de Aragua.
