What happened
Lucey had begun asking why, if there was nothing incriminating in the Jeffrey Epstein files, Trump opposed releasing them. Video circulated on November 18, ahead of a House vote on the files. CNN's Jake Tapper called it 'disgusting and completely unacceptable'; Bloomberg said its journalists ask questions 'without fear or favor.' A White House official said Lucey had behaved 'in an inappropriate and unprofessional way' toward colleagues, without offering evidence. It began a series of insults to women reporters over the following two weeks.
