What happened
Trump posted the two tweets on June 29, 2017, after criticism on MSNBC's Morning Joe. Republican senators including Ben Sasse, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski publicly objected; Murkowski wrote 'Stop it!' White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended the posts, saying the president 'fights fire with fire.' Brzezinski said on air that the tweets raised concerns about the president. Trump did not apologize.
