Punchbowl News' Jake Sherman reported the remark from the private meeting, a month before Milwaukee hosted the Republican National Convention. Rep. Bryan Steil first posted that Trump did not say it, then said he was talking about specific challenges in the city; Rep. Derrick Van Orden said Trump meant crime. Trump told Fox News, 'It was very clear what I meant. We're very concerned with crime,' and said he loves Milwaukee. Milwaukee leaders and Democrats criticized the remark.
