What happened
CBS News reported that Trump warned of Biden's plan to 'flood your state with an influx of refugees from Somalia' and questioned how Ilhan Omar won reelection. He repeated the line in Duluth (September 30, 2020), saying of Biden, 'This guy loves Somalia.' In Lansing, Michigan (October 27, 2020) he said, 'when I think of Somalia I think of Omar.' A year earlier, at a Minneapolis rally on October 10, 2019, he had criticized leaders who 'brought large numbers of refugees to your state from Somalia.' Muslim civil rights groups and Minnesota Democrats condemned the 2020 remarks.
