Twice declined at the presidential debate to say he wants Ukraine to win

What happened
Moderator David Muir asked Trump, 'Do you want Ukraine to win this war?' Trump said he wanted the war to stop, that Europe should 'equalize' its contributions, and that 'I know Zelenskyy very well, and I know Putin very well. I have a good relationship, and they respect your president.' Asked again, 'yes or no,' whether it was in the U.S. interest for Ukraine to win, he answered: 'I think it's the U.S. best interest to get this war finished and just get it done.' Harris responded that Trump 'would just give it up.' He had given the same non-answer at the May 2023 CNN town hall.
