What happened
On January 11, 2026, Dar Global announced Trump International Golf Club, Wadi Safar, a 2.6 million square meter site with a Trump-branded golf course, hotel and residences inside the Wadi Safar master plan being developed by the Diriyah Company, which Forbes describes as chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The next day Dar Global launched Trump Plaza Jeddah, valued at over $1 billion, and its chief executive told Reuters the projects together are valued at about $10 billion. Trump had toured Diriyah during his May 2025 visit to the kingdom and hosted the crown prince at the White House in November 2025. Forbes reported that the announcement made no mention of the crown prince's role, that further Delaware entities named DT Diriyah Golf Manager were formed in April 2026, and that an existing entity, DT Marks KSA LLC, paid the president $9.2 million in 2025. Middle East Eye described Dar Global's parent, Dar Al Arkan, as having close ties to the Saudi government. The White House told Forbes there are no conflicts of interest.
