What happened
Trump first used the line on January 25, 2025 ('they put two dog sleds there two weeks ago') and repeated it on January 4 and January 14, 2026 ('They added a second dog sled. That's not going to do the trick'). Channel 4 News and other fact-checkers said the claim misrepresented Denmark's Arctic forces, which include the Sirius dog-sled patrol alongside ships and aircraft. Greenland's and Denmark's governments rejected his demands.
