Grisada Boonrach, Thailand's Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, stayed at the Trump International Hotel in Washington on the nights of August 18 to 22, 2018, accompanied by other Thai government officials who stayed from August 18 through August 24, 2018; together they spent $11,340, according to Mazars USA records cited in the House Oversight Democrats' January 2024 report. Thailand was then governed by the military junta that took power in the 2014 coup, and Freedom House rated it Not Free in its 2018 report. The report lists Thailand among 20 foreign governments whose payments to Trump businesses it identified from the limited records available. The Trump Organization said it donated more than $450,000 in estimated foreign government profits to the U.S. Treasury during the term, and Eric Trump said the report was politically motivated.
