The tweet (timestamped August 23 UTC) followed a Tucker Carlson segment on Fox News. South Africa's government said it reflected a 'narrow perception which only seeks to divide our nation and reminds us of our colonial past,' PBS NewsHour reported. PolitiFact rated the claims Mostly False. Reuters noted that the ruling ANC had announced on August 1 plans to amend the constitution to allow land expropriation without compensation.
