What the record showed
The post did not say what China had violated. On June 5, 2025 Trump reported a call with Xi of about an hour and a half and wrote, "There should no longer be any questions respecting the complexity of Rare Earth products." After negotiators met in London, he posted on June 11 that "OUR DEAL WITH CHINA IS DONE," with China to supply magnets and rare earths up front, and that the "RELATIONSHIP IS EXCELLENT!" On August 11, 2025 he signed an order extending the tariff suspension for another 90 days.
