What happened
He was agreeing with a reporter who said the administration had "secured peace in Africa" and "no other President could do it"; he added, "Other Presidents should have done what I'm doing right now. They never did it." PolitiFact reported in August 2025 that the Congo-Rwanda deal was "temporary and shaky," following a long string of broken agreements between the two countries, with earlier ceasefire attempts collapsing in 2024.
