What happened
He repeated the claim at his June 16, 2015 announcement ("Rebuild the country's infrastructure. Nobody can do that like me.") and in his June 22, 2016 New York speech, where he said crumbling roads, bridges and airports "can all be fixed, but not by Hillary Clinton, only by me." No infrastructure bill passed during his term; PolitiFact's Trump-O-Meter rated his pledge to invest $550 billion in infrastructure and create an infrastructure fund "Promise Broken," with "no action evident" as of July 2020. Infrastructure legislation was later enacted under the Biden administration.
