What the record showed

The claim followed his August 11, 2025 announcement of a federal law-enforcement and National Guard deployment in Washington, D.C., where he said 'if you're competent, it's easy. If you're incompetent, it's impossible. But I'm very competent,' and his August 21, 2025 address to the deployed officers and Guard members. In the same January 2026 remarks he said 'Trump was right about everything' and cited praise for 'the best political instincts of any politician in 150 years.'
