What the record showed

Former federal prosecutor James D. Zirin's 2019 book counted more than 3,500 lawsuits involving Trump over 45 years, including cases he lost such as the defamation suit against author Tim O'Brien. In November 2016 he settled the Trump University suits for $25 million after repeatedly saying he would not settle.
