What happened
Asked about his proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S., Trump said places like Brussels and Paris had 'no assimilation.' Brussels residents answered with the hashtag #hellhole, and city alderman Geoffroy Coomans called him a buffoon, CBS News reported. After the March 22, 2016 Brussels bombings he repeatedly cited the remark, saying in Rochester, New York on April 10, 2016, 'I said Brussels is a total hellhole.' Protesters cited it when he visited Brussels as president in May 2017.
