What happened

The remarks came the day after a federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation and awarded Carroll about $5 million. He called her a 'whack job,' called her story 'fake' and 'made up' and the trial 'rigged,' drawing laughter from the audience while moderator Kaitlan Collins tried to interject. Carroll then sought additional damages over the town hall remarks. On January 26, 2024, a jury awarded her $83.3 million in her separate suit over his 2019 statements.
