What happened
He made the post days after his federal indictment in Washington over the 2020 election, arguing he could not get a fair trial there; the post itself said the takeover 'is very unpopular with potential area jurors.' He repeated the theme often: on Oct. 22, 2023 he posted that D.C. 'has become a dirty, crime ridden death trap'; on Nov. 11, 2023 he said 'It's dirty. It's filthy. It's crime-ridden'; and on June 14, 2024 he called it 'a hellhole.' He carried out a version of the takeover in August 2025.
