What happened
Trump made the claim at a rally while arguing for surveillance of mosques. The next day he told ABC's George Stephanopoulos the cheering came from areas with 'large Arab populations.' PolitiFact rated the claim Pants on Fire on November 22, 2015, finding no video or reporting of mass celebrations. Jersey City's mayor said Trump 'has memory issues or willfully distorts the truth.'
