As Trump listed claims about Omar, the crowd chanted 'Send her back.' PolitiFact found he paused about 13 seconds before continuing. On July 18 he told reporters, 'I was not happy with it. I disagree with it,' and said he had tried to stop it. PolitiFact rated that claim False. House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy said the chant had 'no place in our party.' The phrase came back at later rallies; at Mount Pocono on December 9, 2025, after Trump said of Omar 'throw her the hell out,' the crowd chanted 'Send her back.'
