What happened
Trump had aides dim the lights and play a video that included opposition politician Julius Malema, whose party won less than 10 percent of the vote in 2024, AP reported. Ramaphosa said the video did not reflect government policy and said that if there were an Afrikaner farmer genocide, the white South African officials with him 'would not be here.' AP noted that the administration had cited such claims to justify letting white South Africans apply for U.S. refugee status.
