Criticized Zelensky for refusing to recognize Russian control of Crimea

What happened
Trump posted on April 23, 2025, after Zelensky said, "Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea," adding that doing so was against Ukraine's constitution. CNN reported that the U.S. proposal under discussion included recognizing Russia's control of Crimea. In the post Trump wrote that "Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory" and that Zelensky "can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country." The same day Vice President JD Vance said it was time for Russia and Ukraine "to either say yes or for the US to walk away from this process." Secretary of State Marco Rubio withdrew from talks with Ukrainian and European officials in London, which were downgraded. After Russian strikes on Kyiv, Trump wrote the next day, "Vladimir, STOP!"
