What happened
On December 19, 2025 DOJ made a partial release of roughly 12,285 items and 125,575 pages, heavily redacted, with more than 500 pages entirely blacked out. The bulk slipped to January 30, 2026, when Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche released further data sets and declared 'full compliance' despite DOJ having identified around 6 million responsive pages. On August 13, 2026 a federal judge put DOJ on notice over stalled production, saying of contempt, 'It's not a threat. It's a promise,' and by September 18, 2026 was warning Blanche personally.
