What happened
Kristen Welker asked Trump whether Ukraine should prepare for less aid from the United States after he took office. He answered 'Possibly,' then 'Yeah. Probably. Sure,' and said Europe should 'equalize' because 'war with Russia is more important for Europe than it is for us. ... We have a little thing called an ocean in between us.' He said he was 'actively' trying to end the war before his inauguration. The interview came a day after he met Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. In the same interview he declined to say whether he had spoken with Putin since the election.
